How would you operate if a client did not like your proposed advice?

"I'd start by trying to enhance our communication. In most instances, this is probably the cause. I've been in multiple situations where a client expressed their needs very specifically, and I delivered what they expressed they wanted. But in the end, what they requested didn't materialize in the way they'd imagined or hoped. I see this as a breakdown in communication. I think you first have to gauge their level of experience and knowledge of their request. Is it truly what they want? Once you know what the need is, you can narrow in on the vision of what that looks like. I truly believe you should focus on the need first and see how well that matches up with what they think they want at the time."

"I'd first examine exactly what it is they didn't like and why and aim to correct it. I'd approach this by clarifying, mirroring, and using every enhanced communication technique I have at my disposal. Then, I'd start over, from scratch if need be, and hone in on what would make them happy. I'd take the time to get to know them better, what is driving their decision-making processes, and put my all into delivering in a way that would eventually satisfy."
