Are you available to work weekends when needed?
As a Social Work Supervisor, you must be flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed. The interviewer asks this question to see that you are a team player and dedicated to your profession.
Focus on assuring the interviewer you understand the nature of the business and that working weekends is part of the job. Let them know that you are flexible with your schedule and willing to work whatever hours they need, including weekends.
If you want to be considered for the position, avoid saying that you cannot work weekends without explaining why. If you have a personal obligation, such as caring for a child or family member on the weekends, describe your situation to the interviewer and explain that you will look for help with your child or family member on the weekends you need to work. If you are honest in the interview, the interviewer will understand if there are some weekends you might not be able to work.
"Yes, I am available to work weekends when needed. I understand the nature of this industry and have no problem working weekends and holidays if needed. I have a class I take every Saturday, but my professor will let me make up the class if I have to work."
