Why did you choose a career in marketing?

"I initially chose a career path in sales and landed in marketing after completing a business development contract for a client who was heavily involved in the influencer marketing sector. I loved the idea of helping a business put together a strategy for branding and development, and I especially enjoy studying consumer behaviors. I enrolled in online classes at my local university and earned my degree in Digital Marketing and Communications. My first job out of college focused on email marketing, and I grew from there, gaining more experience across different areas of marketing. Overall, my path shaped me into a very well-rounded Marketing Director."

This should be one of the easiest questions in your interview. Just be honest! Discuss what led you to your field, who or what influenced you, and how your career lines up with your attributes and professional strengths. If your path to marketing was indirect or non-traditional, that's okay!
