What cloud technologies do you have experience with?
Some IT delivery managers are required to manage cloud deployments or ensure proper use of cloud technologies by third-party vendors. Interviewers ask this question to determine if a candidate has exposure to the types of cloud solutions their company relies upon currently or plans to use in the future.
Do not include a particular cloud technology in your answer if you did not have direct interaction with it previously. Interviewers who require specific experience in this area are likely to ask detailed follow-up questions that would directly expose your lack of experience.
"I served as a project manager for a team that used Amazon's AWS Lambda services for cloud computing. The team previously wrote custom jobs for all of their processing, and the switch saved a lot of time and money after we made it past the initial learning curve. I helped with the processing logic and worked with the customers to determine the timing for chronological jobs and the impact of run failures.
I have also worked with teams who use Microsoft Azure for various functions. I was not involved in the development of these solutions, but I helped our customers understand the impact of transitioning from our previous solutions to these cloud-based solutions. My team uses Azure for load balancing, deployment, virtual machines, and database functions."
