Product knowledge is key when working in a department that offers products or services. Knowing how it can solve a need or issue demonstrates that you are knowledgeable and serious about your company. And, it increases sales! The interviewer wants to know how you would respond if you were unfamiliar with a product or service that a customer is inquiring about. Explain that you would take the time to find an answer, but you aren't afraid to ask questions if you need to. Show the interviewer that you are an independent thinker and can think on your feet!
