A successful leasing agent will see themselves as a sales professional. Similar to a real estate agent, a leasing agent must accurately and competitively represent a clients' property for rent or lease. Talk to the interviewer about your viewpoint when it comes to the sales aspect of your position.

"It is important for a leasing agent to act as a real estate agent, a business development professional and an entrepreneur, all in one. I most certainly see myself as a sales professional. I give myself important targets to reach every week, month, and quarter. These targets include how many calls I make, whether they be warm calls or follow up calls. I also look closely at inbound leads, my lead-to-tour conversion rate, and my close rate - just as a sales professional would. This discipline is most certainly what has contributed to my success as an Apartment Leasing Agent."
