If you have found yourself in a situation like this, you can draw on this example when you respond by telling a brief story. Of course, be careful not to name anyone outright. Instead, focus on the way you reacted and helped resolve the situation.
"Academic cheating is a violation of integrity and not a minor issue. If I discovered that a classmate was cheating, I would approach them and try to have an open conversation regarding what I witnessed. I would ask them to admit their actions to a professor or dean and correct their course. If that approach didn't work, I would discuss the matter with my professor, without naming names, and ask their advice on the best approach."
