Midwestern University's PA Program Admissions Committee wants to know more about your personal opinion, your critical thinking skills, and your ability to be diplomatic regarding potentially controversial topics like socialized versus privatized health care. This question is an opportunity to start a meaningful conversation between yourself and the Admissions Committee. Avoid giving a potentially offensive answer or one that seems rigid. It's best if you can provide a response that shows thoughtfulness for the topic and a desire and openness to learning more about the subject of healthcare provision.

"I believe that the basic concepts of socialized health care and privatized health care are good by nature and speak to a range of patients. Some of my peers have expressed their love for socialized health care because, although they pay a higher tax rate, they are not caught in an expensive whirlwind when they face illness. Privatized health care can offer significantly shorter wait times which is very important for those with a potentially critical or debilitating illness. I believe it is important to have both options, so people have choices in their healthcare."
