To answer this question, think about the times you've been involved in deciding where to advertise. Provide the interviewer with an example or two of times when you performed research to determine what advertising channels would be most effective and how you came to that conclusion. You can use examples of decision-driving attributes of each channel like audience segment, reach, cost, etc.
Do not discuss any other stage of advertisement planning or market research. Your answer should show that you have a deliberate process for deciding where to advertise.

"There a few factors I take into consideration to determine channel fit for campaigns. In the past, I've gathered data on the customer base then used a chart template to visually compare all of the channels I could utilize to reach them. The chart listed each channel, its cost, effectiveness, and reach. I've scored the channels on each section, then reviewed the overall scores to help me determine which would be the most suitable for my campaign. There have been other factors that weigh into my decision, but this chart is a helpful tool to streamline the decision-making process."
