Tell me about yourself.

"A bit about me - I love to travel, read, and conduct research. I am a recent grad from Columbia University and have spent the past 12 months traveling the world. It was the best experience that I could have given myself as I was able to learn so much from seeing how the rest of the world lives. "My name is ________. I have experience in the Medical Field as a Medical Records Clerk with a commendation

for Customer Service and Medical Coding. I will be brushing up on my computer skills this Fall with a plan to

take more in the spring. What I do for fun, I love music so I took up playing the piano it was a challenge but

      I would not quit now."

      Marcie's Feedback

Great! Your response comes across as very genuine. No need to remind the interviewer of your name - they will already know this. Mentioning your commendation is an excellent idea! It's also great that you mention your plans to learn more skills. Look at the job description and then talk more about the skills, personality traits, experience, and training/education you have that align with the role. Take this opportunity to really sell yourself! Please see below for an example:
"I've been working in the medical field for over 15 years now, and I love it. It's definitely what I'm meant to do! My last position was as a medical records clerk. I was able to excel within this role because of my organizational, technological, and time management skills, in addition to my attention to detail. I'm also friendly and compassionate, and this was recognized by my last employer when they gave me a commendation for customer service. They also recognized how diligent I am when they commended me for medical coding as well. Although I enjoyed my last role, I'm excited to move into a new position that allows me to learn more and grow because this is important to me. In fact, this fall I plan to take some online classes to further strengthen my computer skills. I have a deep desire to work directly with patients and would love a position that gives me the chance to talk to and help patients face-to-face more frequently. A strong communicator, hard-working, and full of integrity, I know that I am the perfect fit for your hospital and this role."
