43% of Sutter Health's workforce is ethnically diverse. Talk about a time you had to work among a diverse workforce or a diverse patient base. What adjustments did you have to make to your style?

"The current department I work in is very culturally diverse, and I find working closely with my entire team to be stimulating and educational. We all come from different backgrounds, and our diversity brings many new and fresh ideas to our daily work. I truly appreciate this. From my own personal standpoint, I don't have to make any adjustments to my style as I treat all people with respect and openness."

"During my clinical rotations, I made it a point to experience working in an LGBTQ clinic setting, and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything in the world. The experience opened my eyes and my ability to work with people with a completely different background and mindset than me. My biggest lesson was that even though people may be different on the outside, we are all the same on the inside, and all deserve the greatest healthcare possible. I did not need to adjust my style as I treat everyone with dignity and respect. Moving forward, I would love to provide this same compassionate care to this population with Sutter Health."
