"My career started in selling old homes, as an assistant to my father who was a Realtor. Gradually, I became focused on new home sales as my portfolio grew, and our city expanded. Today, I am more experienced in new home sales. I prefer new home sales because it allows me to better collaborate with my clients on their needs, and I can offer them unique customizations."

"New home sales is my preference since I have the most knowledge in this area, due to my education in construction. For me, it's exciting to see a client walk through a spec home and then be able to make customizations to their actual home, based on their lifestyle and design preferences."

I have more experience in resale. Since moving to California in 1989. My husband and I have bought and sold 3 homes and we are on our 4th. We also are familiar with the property since we own a 4plex. We have looked at new home sales and have used these spec homes with ideas for our home. What is the most neutral for even selling for the future. We look forward to someday doing this. We love model homes and the feel of the home is like a model. We have lived 19 years in this home and I have put my design stamp on it! from new flooring, paint, kitchen, bathrooms, walls as well as even new doors, windows, and appliances.

Nice answer! It sounds like you have a lot of experience in designing and re-selling homes. Your answer is very thorough and shows the depth of your experience, which is great. I'm a little confused about whether you prefer resale or new home sales, however. It sounds like your experience lies in resale, but you discuss loving model homes and looking at new home sales. Perhaps clarify your preference a bit more? Or if you're open to doing either, let the interviewer know that.
