In South Africa, we have 11 languages, so when I moved to university, it was to a region that spoke a completely different language to mine. I come from a Zulu speaking province, but where I studied, most people speak Setswana and Afrikaans, so it was a big transition. The best way to adapt, in my opinion, is to fully immerse yourself in that culture, so I learned how to speak the language, but also I learned how the people interact and live their day-to-day lives. I had an amazing time, and today I am happy that I was pushed out of my comfort zone.

Most people cannot speak more than 1 or 2 languages - it's pretty cool that you stretched yourself to speak additional languages while also immersing yourself in learning the culture. Great job pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and having an amazing time along the way :)
