In my second year, I worked as a waiter at a local restaurant, and aside from Fridays, holidays are very busy days. On one particular holiday, we were short-staffed, but we were still busy as ever, so I had to look after 3 parties, which was very challenging. I worked together with another waitress as a team to serve the larger groups and kept on my toes as the kitchen brought food out quickly, and customers ordered more drinks. The night turned out to be a very successful one, and I think I got my biggest tip from a table that night. I believe taking care of myself physically and mentally and prioritising the workload is very important to ensure that I manage and balance out my stress levels.
