There is a student that is falling behind in the classroom; how do you respond?

"I want to ensure that nobody is left behind. First, I would review our instructor/student engagement plan and implement the first steps. In my previous role, I had a student who began to decrease overall in her participation and assignment average. I reached out individually and notified her there was a concern. She provided details about her situation, and I found the right counseling program for her and made the connection; a few days later, she was doing much better."

"Learning is never the same experience for everyone. I understand there will be moments of success and struggle. In my previous role at XYZ institution, I taught a student who began to show class attendance struggles and, in a way, "ghosted" our efforts to communicate. Finally, I was able to speak to him regarding his status and learned there had been problems at home. I referred him to appropriate resources, and a few days later, he was improving in his class."
