While most of your interviews will be focused on the success and ways to create the most beneficial and creative eLearning programs, this question focuses on your awareness of what can cause them to fail. Before your interview, be sure to think of the different details that can cause a plan to fail and talk about these details with your interviewer. "From my experiences in developing robust and impactful online curricula, the first point of failure typically stems from rigidity in not allowing instructors to use their professional judgment in how to implement the programs. Given that students are all unique in their personality and how they learn, professional educators need to be given the flexibility to customize the programs to their students. The programs that rely solely on the judgment of a textbook writer often fail the most. The other reason I have personally seen an online program fail is the lack of buy-in from both the instructors and students. When I develop new programs, I first ensure that the instructors using them will find them exciting and effective."
