A good, comprehensive SEO audit includes many steps and checkpoints, but the core of the audit is making sure the site is being correctly crawled, indexed, and rendered. It's best to complete an SEO audit quarterly, but every six months can be sufficient too. At my current company, our most recent SEO audit reported several missing tags and images that weren't optimized. These were easy issues to address, but we never would have known about them if we didn't consistently do audits."
