Teamwork is an essential part of working as a rehabilitation counselor. The interviewer wants to ensure that the candidate they hire works well with others when collaborating on a patient's treatment plan. If someone prefers to work alone and does not work well with others, that will be a red flag to the interviewer. Describe how you work well on a team and give an example of when being part of a team produced excellent results.

"I work very well on a team. I believe that every member of a team brings valuable skills and knowledge that others may not have. For example, I worked with a team of physicians, occupational and vocational therapists, and psychologists with my last patient. The patient had been injured on the job and was partially paralyzed from a building collapse. He suffered mental and physical injuries and was unable to walk or talk for three years. My team was able to help the patient with his injuries and get him to a point where he was walking and talking again. He was even placed in a new job. I could not have rehabilitated the patient without the help of the entire team."
