"The largest budget I have ever worked with as a product manager for the new release of a product was 6 million. I was the lead product manager for an ecommerce app to support a national retailer. I realize that is a large budget for an ecommerce app, but we integrated a number of features that supported customers when they were shopping in-store and also tied it to our backend accounting and inventory systems. We had over ten million downloads of the first major release, and the numbers are still climbing.
That budget included the funding for resources, licensing, hardware, legal, and marketing. A senior program manager managed the budget details, but we met weekly to review the numbers and work with all of the product managers involved to ensure our feature sets were properly accounted for."
