What initial challenges do you anticipate in this position with the USPS?
In my experience, every hiring manager knows that the perfect candidate that can come in on day one and work flawlessly doesn't exist. Every candidate comes with a shortcoming or two, and your interviewer at the United States Postal Services wants to hear that you are cognizant of where you would have initial struggles and the job and that you have a plan for addressing them from day one.
"I anticipate that the biggest challenge on my first day and week will be to learn the internal software and programs I will be using in this role at the USPS. I am quite tech savvy, yet I imagine that being such a huge organization serving so many people, you have a very intricate and robust system. I look forward to the challenge!"
Before your interview with the USPS, identify a few responsibilities where you anticipate a bit of a learning curve. It's okay not to know everything! It's also better for you to admit it from the beginning than to come up with some vague statement to try to prove you are experienced in something you are not. Interviewers at the USPS will see right through this. Be honest about the challenges and be brave enough to ask questions. As a City Carrier, one of the challenges could be not knowing the route. I am pretty confident with training and repetitive tasks and I will get better with experience.
