Why the Interviewer Asks This Question

In my experience, every hiring manager knows that the perfect candidate that can come in on day one and work flawlessly doesn't exist. Every candidate comes with a shortcoming or two, and your interviewer at the United States Postal Services wants to hear that you are cognizant of where you would have initial struggles and the job and that you have a plan for addressing them from day one.

      How to Answer

Before your interview with the USPS, identify a few responsibilities where you anticipate a bit of a learning curve. It's okay not to know everything! It's also better for you to admit it from the beginning than to come up with some vague statement to try to prove you are experienced in something you are not. Interviewers at the USPS will see right through this. Be honest about the challenges and be brave enough to ask questions. Do a little research before the interview on any task, software, or system with which you are unfamiliar.
