      Good start. I would take this as an opportunity to sell yourself and answer the question completely. The interviewer wants to make sure you are paying attention to their directives. See my suggestion below. I would revise my response with a specific instance that could be related to the position you are applying for.
      "I rate my communication a 6 out of 10. I can work with many personality types and have good verbal and written communication skills. I rated myself a 6 because I still have room to grow and expand my skill set in this area. I want to broaden my exposure to different communication styles so that I may be more effective."
