"Last month at work, two of my colleagues were in disagreement about when and how an announcement should be communicated to families. Even though I was not part of the team making the decision, I decided to step in and share my perspective with both of them. I shared the pros and cons of communicating the announcement in a specific way, which just so happened to incorporate both of their ideas. All three of us put our heads together to create a solution that was straightforward, concise, and helped parents plan accordingly. This task that started off rocky wound up being a truly successful experience, with just a little bit of listening, collaboration, and brainstorming. I felt like I had a chance to lead by example and help my colleagues resolve this minor conflict."
