I believe that worker integrity and honesty are central to creating a positive and collaborative work environment. In one of my previous roles, I acted as supervisor in a retail store and was thus regularly responsible for depositing money and ensuring no discrepancies. I also acted as volunteer treasurer for a social organization in college and this involved closely managing the day-to-day accounting of the society. Integrity obviously extends past financial matters and there is one incident that comes to mind; a newer and younger co-worker who I was in charge of mentoring made a mistake and was concerned he would get into trouble and thus attempted to alter the events slightly in the incident report. I do not believe he was doing it maliciously but as his mentor, I counseled him on the importance of honesty even in admitting a mistake.

This is an excellent example that you've shared and really illustrates your integrity and honesty; however, I was left with the question, "Then what happened?" I suggest adding a clinching final sentence. For example, "With my advice, my co-worker updated the incident report to reflect the exact facts of what had occurred. This incident reflects not only my own commitment to integrity but my desire to support honesty and integrity in those around me."
