I feel I am a little too early in my career to have developed much of a preference as of yet. During my course of study, we predominately focused on studies related to humans and animals. Mainly due to my thesis focusing predominantly on clinical data from humans I may be a little biased towards human studies. But obviously, a lot of the preliminary material in my course was based on animal studies. Bar some additional side reading I performed on specific plant pathogens or the use of plant extracts as the bases for synthetic drug products I have had little opportunity to explore plant studies but this is definitely something I would like to explore further.

I am equally excited to study humans, animals, and plants.

Because of my passion for medical devices, I would have to say that I prefer to work with human studies. In device design, I have to work closely with the end-user. As someone who has worked in tissue engineering, I hope that we can substitute lab-grown human cells for much of our animal work, but I recognize that animals will never be completely removed from medical research.

What about working with humans do you like? Do you like the interactions you have? Do you enjoy the knowledge that you are helping to design devices that will ultimately help them? Talk more about this to further impress the interviewer.
