      1st Answer Example

"I was recently involved with a project that required 30 hours of work over two weeks while I was in the middle of several other projects. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, I dove right into the project. I made a to-do list and mapped out the deliverables day-by-day with associated deadlines. I prioritized tasks by how crucial they were and spent the first few hours of my day knocking out those particularly high-impact items. I completed the project by the deadline, and upper-level management even reached out to commend me for completing such a lofty project in a short time."

      2nd Answer Example

"Last week, I was asked to lead our team while our manager was away. I created a checklist of things that needed to be completed to reach our deadlines. I gathered the team to discuss our goals and asked for input and ideas to get us there. It was a great experience for me. Not only was I able to exercise my leadership capabilities, but I was also able to learn more about my team members and reflect on my goals for professional growth."

"I deal with this on a day-to-day basis, I have to be able to pivot on the fly to deal with issues as they arise whilst also maintaining focus on long-term objectives. I plan a lot as failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Recently I had a request at short notice to send out comms, so I looked at the due date and the time to complete the task, looked at my plan, communicated the priorities that could be pushed out, and reprioritized my team to work on the comms."

      Marcie's Feedback

Can you explain more about what you do in your current role so it's easier to understand why you're constantly pivoting? Otherwise, you provide a good example of a time when you had to reprioritize tasks to get a project done on time. Don't forget to include the end result. Did you get the comms out in time? How exactly did you change your team's priorities to get it done? Good job!
