The interviewer asks this question to determine if you have the education needed to perform the role you are interviewing for. They want to hear if you have a degree, certificates, or any other specialized training that qualifies you to work in this field.
Focus on describing your education as it relates to the position. You do not need to start with receiving your high school diploma or GED. Start with post-secondary training and beyond. If you do not have post-secondary training and the position calls for only a high school diploma or GED, mention that you are qualified for the job and describe your credentials.
"I am a registered nurse and obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing five years ago from Duke University. I have been working as a nurse for the past five years and complete the required continuing education hours needed each year. I am looking into master's programs right now as I would like to continue my education and seek an administrative position at Cleveland Clinic in the next five years."
