Big W is dedicated to creating great customer interactions, so any experience you have in the retail industry is a plus. If you have retail experience, walk the interviewer through your career history in retail and highlight your favorite and most challenging positions. If you don't have retail experience, that's okay -- just highlight some transferable skills and let the interviewer know that you're excited to make the transition to retail.

"By far my most challenging retail job was my first, about three years ago. It was really difficult to transition from restaurant service to retail service -- while some of the skills are obviously transferable, it was a totally different experience. But that first difficult job really set me up for success in the retail industry. I learned a lot about myself and about what it means to create great customer experiences that result in repeat and regular customers."

Nice! You definitely have a lot of experience in customer service, which is great. Make sure you give lots of details about what you did in each role, particularly if the duties relate to this position in any way. It's interesting that your most challenging role was also your favorite. You mention being exposed to lots of diversity - did you find this challenging and/or did you enjoy this aspect of the job? Be sure to answer the question directly. Great job!
