How to Answer
Wildland firefighters typically work seasonally during the peak time of potential fire outbreaks. You may be interviewing for the U.S. National Park Service or the U.S. Forest Service. Some local fire departments even have a wildfire unit. You want to show them that you're serious enough about the job to do your research. Take some time to learn more about their mission, values, and their culture. Find out what sets them apart from all of the other fire departments.
