"The product manager is customer or business-facing and drives the vision of a product. They develop the roadmap and a program backlog with feature-level acceptance criteria based on the needs of the business, the expected ROI, pricing models, marketing needs, etc. Product managers have responsibility for the entire life cycle including delivery of the final product to the customer. This role is typically more senior and has more responsibility for the overall success of a product than a product owner has.
Product owners are embedded within a technology team. They take the features from the program backlog and translate them into user stories within the product backlog. This includes defining acceptance criteria for specific stories. Product owners test and accept the product increments and work them into the baseline for the product manager and enablers to release to the end-users on demand."
