"Release Train Engineers are facilitators that fully understand agile and lean principles. They help to synchronize the work of the individual teams within an Agile Release Train by conducting Program Increment planning and execution meetings. RTEs also develop and socialize delivery calendars for the ART.
RTEs work to ensure adherence to process and excellence in all areas of the process including reporting upstream to PMOs. They also partner with development leaders and architects to foster continual delivery, improvement, and integration standards.
Finally, RTEs serve as coaches and mentors for individuals within teams. Scrum masters, product owners, and product managers often seek their guidance and work with RTEs to resolve conflicts between teams."
