How can you find out which database instances are part of a RAC cluster?

There are a large number of queries and commands used when administering an Oracle RAC database. The interviewers know this and will ask about many of these during the interview. They usually start by asking about the more common queries and commands and then progress to more difficult ones. They will usually limit their questions to queries and commands typically used in their Oracle RAC environment and by their current team of administrators.

No individual can know all the queries and commands used to administer an Oracle RAC environment. Suppose you are asked about a command or query that you are unfamiliar with. In that case, the best strategy is to immediately admit this and then describe to the interviewer where you would locate the information about the query or command. This will demonstrate your resourcefulness as well as your honesty during the interview.
