What is your favorite thing about being a medical assistant?

"There are so many things that I love about being a medical assistant. I love being able to be upfront and involved in so many aspects of patient care. Whether I am taking a history to put in the patient's chart, making sure that orders are printed or transmitted, or assisting a doctor while he is examining a patient, I enjoy everything I do."

Medical assistants are cross-trained between administrative and clinical duties. This fact alone makes you a very valuable part of the healthcare team. Interviewers ask questions like this in an effort to get to know you, and your answer will likely tell him what assets you will be bringing to the team.

"I like the fact that I am not limited to one specific assignment or duty as a medical assistant. Being able to perform clinical duties, such as taking vital signs or performing an EKG one day and then working the front office greeting patients and getting them checked in to see the physician the next keep me from feeling like I am replaying each day over and over."
