The interviewer knows your responsibilities as a medical assistant, considering they may have even helped write the job description. They are looking to hear how you approach your daily tasks. Start by explaining the first thing you do, including washing hands, getting organized, checking in with doctors, etc. Show that you are conscientious and perceptive.

"At the beginning of the day, I double-check the schedule and make sure the office would not have a long wait time for patients. I inspect the beds and make sure all of the tools and equipment are in place and sanitary. When the first patient comes in, and I get their medical history and the reason for their visit. I will take their vital signs and prepare them for the doctor to see them. I will continue assisting the doctor and assessing patients throughout the day. At the end of my shift, I make sure everything is clean and the charts are properly organized."
