The interviewer would like to be assured that you are fully aware of the conditions you would be working if hired. You can expect to work in a variety of weather conditions, ranging from hot and humid to cold and windy. As a lineman, you are trained to handle extreme weather situations such as thunderstorms, heavy rain, high winds, and snowstorms. Despite the challenging conditions, you must be dedicated to restoring power as quickly and safely as possible. Tell the interviewer that you can work in varying weather conditions while giving an example of a time when you have done so.

"I am fully aware that weather conditions can dramatically change in our region, and I am prepared to work in all types of weather. I always carry extra clothing and protective gear, so I am prepared for all weather conditions. Before working as a lineman, I had an outdoor job as a mail carrier. I have many years of experience working outdoors and understand the hardships that can come with it."
