"Next to the functionality of the application, the data structure associated with it is the second most important consideration. Virtually every application will need to access data in a specific manner. Mapping the data flow, understanding the data structure, what control systems are used, and many other issues must be considered during an application integration project's design and planning phase. I consider specific data-related issues, including data security, quality, storage and retrieval, database software, and documentation. Fortunately, I've become adept at this and have a deep portfolio of resources to analyze the data flow and integrate it into my design."
