"I want to make the best decision when choosing which veterinary medicine program to attend, so I conducted careful research before applying to the University of Missouri. I started by conducting informational interviews with some veterinary medicine program graduates. I discovered throughout my research that MU has a unique curricular structure and provides nearly two years of hands-on training in the college's general and specialty clinics. MU is one of only 34 public US institutions in the prestigious Association of American Universities, whose members are top-tier schools noted for outstanding teaching and research endeavors. I am also impressed that MU is the only Missouri institution to award the doctor of veterinary medicine degree, graduating just over 100 new veterinarians yearly. After learning about The MU College of Veterinary Medicine's focus on research and its promotion of specialized clinics, I felt incredibly drawn to this program.
