The Admissions Committee at the University of Missouri wants to get to know you more personally. This desire might lead them to ask questions about what you do in your personal time. By asking what you are currently reading, the Admissions Committee can learn more about your interests and if you place importance on feeding your mind regularly.
Be prepared to discuss a book you are currently reading and why you chose to immerse yourself in that topic. If you're not currently reading a book, talk about one you have read in the past that left an impression on you. If possible, connect this book to your career goals or personal aspirations.

"I just finished reading a book called 'Tell Me Where It Hurts: A Day of Humor, Healing, and Hope in My Life as an Animal Surgeon' by Nick Trout. This book provides interesting detail about the clinical experiences of various veterinarians, including insight into their work and perspectives. The book showed me how varied and hectic days can be in a veterinary hospital, and it gave me excellent insight into the day-to-day of a veterinarian. I highly recommend this book for any veterinary medicine students."
