The interviewer is asking this question for two reasons. One, he wants to sell the opportunity for you to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Two, he needs to know that you share that vision and will consider being more engaged than just an ordinary worker who punches in and punches out on a time clock. Engaged workers who contribute to the communities around them are much more productive individuals. This is a wonderful opportunity to share with the hiring manager some of the causes that you believe in and to learn more about what your local Goodyear company involves itself in.
