Communication is vital to success in any role with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, whether it is communication with a team, inter-departmentally, or external stakeholders. To get a sense of your overall communication skills and your confidence in them, your interviewer would like to know how you rate your communication skills.

"I rate my communication skills as a 9/10 as I am not always as clear as I would like to be. My supervisor and co-workers will attest to my clear and concise communication skills. Because I am an open leader, my team will let me know if I need to clarify anything."

First, on a scale of 1-10, rank your communication skills. Avoid giving yourself a 10; nobody is perfect, and you do not want to come across as overly confident or someone with no room for feedback and improvement. Alternately, avoid giving yourself too little credit. You do not want to paint the picture that you are a communication dud! Remain in the 7.5-9.5 range while being honest and accurate. Use an example of your excellent communication on the job to back up your answer.

"I would rate my communication skills an 8 out of 10. I have been commended for my top-notch verbal and written communication skills as I am very open and honest with my colleagues, ask for help when needed, and communicate any changes in our workflow. I think I excel in written communications, both formal documentation, and email communications. I would say my room for improvement comes from my tendency to overcommunicate, which I have been working on improving by communicating only what is necessary to who is necessary."
