How do you determine priorities in your work when you have multiple projects due and tasks in a given day?

"I will determine which projects require my attention most by the number of hours we are behind and then the project size. I am comfortable delegating tasks when needed, but I am also aware that these times will require additional hours from me. Never have I underdelivered on a deadline. When day-to-day job duties are thrown into the mix, I use my work calendar to help me set aside dedicated time for different tasks."

"If you were to look at my work desk, you would quickly see that I am a list maker who uses handwritten notes to stay on track. Every evening before leaving, I reprioritize my work for the next day and check off tasks that I accomplished that day. I have found that staying on track this way comes very easily to me and helps me prioritize the important and deadline-driven things first. The extra five minutes it takes to make my list is worth its weight in gold."

Assure the interviewer that you can be diligent when assessing your priorities. If possible, talk about the tools and resources you use on the job to keep yourself organized and on track with both your day-to-day duties and long-term project work.
