The most memorable negative feedback I received was when I took over the leadership of my first cross-functional team at ______ - R&D, manufacturing, packaging, fragrance, and advertising - with the task of launching a new product under strict deadlines and high senior management scrutiny. At NC, I was assigned with building a model for a 3m LP fund by myself. Even though I asked asso for advice and improved the model, at the meeting with a corporate advisor, my model was heavily criticized for not being realistic for a fundraising campaign.
I know I wasn't experienced in this task and 1st time for me to build from scratch, I took his advice seriously and objectively, starting to adopt the right framework he suggested during the meeting, by constantly paying attention to input assumptions to reflect investors' expectations. I was not criticized for the same mistake again from then on.
