If you are currently working in a similar role to the one you're interviewing, a solid strategy is to communicate your current salary, note any bonuses, and make note of your expectations if you feel your experience justifies a jump in compensation (e.g. you have been working in your current position for two years and you're interviewing for a role that represents a promotion).

If you are new to consulting, be sure to do some research on typical salaries for the role you are targeting. Many consulting roles require travel or duties that may differ from your current role.
