Huron Consulting Group asks all of its employees to demonstrate leadership skills starting with their first day on the job. Answering no to this question is not an option and failing to prepare to discuss your ability to lead in your interview is a missed opportunity.
The key to successfully answering this question lies in researching Huron's leadership principles (curiosity, earning trust, growth mindset, setting and achieving goals, etc.) and working a few of them into your response. Also, be sure to review articles that discuss common leadership traits and behaviors if you're having trouble preparing for this question and identify a time from your professional or personal past when you exemplified those behaviors.
"I definitely see myself as a leader. Not only have I managed a team in two prior roles, but also I believe that leadership does not always equate to management. I am sure to lead at all times by providing the best model of enthusiasm and work-ethic. I am open to new ideas and love to tackle a new project which, to me, embodies leadership."

"I believe everyone is a leader and should work hard to develop leadership behaviors. I was pleased to see that Huron Consulting Group shares the same belief and asks their employees to start their leadership journey on day one of their employment.
I am an analyst, but I regularly lead by example. I set clear goals for myself and work hard to achieve them. I keep my word and foster trust within my teams and with my clients. I am curious and I maintain a positive outlook even in the face of a challenge.
I currently serve as the lead analyst on two projects. I help guide the junior analysts, review their work, and we work collectively to meet our goals. I enjoy serving as a mentor and I have learned a lot from them as well. I feel I am a solid leader and I look forward to growing my skills in this area through the leadership opportunities available at Huron Consulting Group if hired."
