To me, programmers have one of the most important roles in a game. I know that a game with bad coding has difficulties being light and smooth, affecting players a lot. When I made my own game and hired programmers, I went cheap first with a student. Then I hired a professional one with a lot of experience, and it was like day and night. I now know how important it is to have a good one and respect the role and responsibilities.
