Although Chegg expects their tutors to have done well in their tutoring subjects, no one is perfect. This situation may happen to you, and it is okay to admit that you don't know. It would be wise to seek out the answer, but showing some vulnerability and admitting you don't know also communicates that everyone is learning, growing, and a work in progress. Follow up with your student to show that you heard their question and were curious enough to seek out the answer.
