Most job descriptions will detail a long list of preferred requirements. Hiring managers are aware that it is unlikely they'll find someone who checks off all the boxes, and this wishlist can sometimes be impossible to fulfill. Don't give up on pursuing the position if you are missing some of the "nice to have" or even the "must have" skills listed in the job description. Now is the right time to exhibit determination. Be forthcoming about where you come up short and discuss with the interviewer how you plan to make up for those skills in other desirable ways. Exude confidence and determination.
