"I was inspired to become a surgical technologist after speaking with a career counselor in high school. I knew I wanted to work in healthcare and help others, but I was unsure which route to go. I took some assessment tests and my interests and skills led me towards surgery. My counselor suggested I either work towards becoming a surgical tech, operating room nurse, or surgeon and advised me to start as a surgery tech to ensure this type of work is for me. After working in this field for three years, I know I chose the right career path and cannot envision doing anything else."
