Focus on describing your education as it relates to the position. You do not need to start with receiving your high school diploma or GED. Start with post-secondary training and beyond. If you do not have post-secondary training and the position calls for only a high school diploma or GED, then indeed mention that you are qualified for the position and describe if you have your diploma or GED. However, most SIU investigator jobs require a minimum of a bachelor's degree or investigative certification along with work experience to apply for the position.

Avoid not having the education required for the position. Suppose the job description calls for an SIU investigator with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, insurance fraud, or investigations. In that case, you want to be sure you meet the requirements before applying for the job.

"I obtained my bachelor's degree in criminal justice eight years ago from Missouri Western State University. I then became a certified fraud investigator through the International Association of Special Investigations Units. I have agreed to a code of ethics and passed their exam. I have maintained my certification by completing the necessary continuing education units and am in good standing as an investigator."
