"I was doing my clinical rotation and was working in the emergency room. A lady came running in holding a limp toddler and said her baby had drowned. I was closest to the mother and took the baby from her arms. A nurse quickly brought a gurney, and we started CPR while wheeling the child back to a room. The mother had followed and was hysterical. The Respiratory Therapist took over for me, and I ushered the mother out of the room. I got her to calm down by staying composed and professional, and she was able to tell me what happened. I stayed with the mother until the doctor came out and said her baby was going to be just fine. It was a very scary moment, but I had to stay composed to do my job and calm the mother down."
