What kind of academic training do you have in the subject you are tutoring?

The interviewer wants to be sure that you are the right fit for the job. But you can do more than recite your degrees and courses, this is a chance to demonstrate the learning you have received. Be specific, but be brief.

"I have a degree in elementary education and I have three years of experience as a tutor. I have experience working with students from first to fifth grade. I definitely feel strongest and most prepared teaching language arts, but I have done it all at the elementary level. I also have a reading endorsement which has helped me understand reading development in order to provide relevant instruction."
